Wrongly accused and imprisoned by King Swayville years ago, Aaron managed to orchestrate a daring escape from the notorious maximum-security facility known for its impenetrability. Falsely branded a criminal and relentlessly pursued by the mad king for offences he vehemently denies, Aaron sought refuge in the treacherous Abyss, a shadowy realm where he could remain hidden from the king’s vigilant gaze for what felt like an eternity.
After a prolonged absence from society, Aaron recently re-emerged in Solstice, making his unexpected appearance at a rather dull party organized by a peculiar figure named Matthew. What was supposed to be a celebratory gathering turned out to be a tedious affair, exacerbated by the host’s blatant disregard—he did not even extend the courtesy of a greeting. Roaming the crowded room with his old friend Karl, who bore no resemblance to the fierce bear their university nickname suggested, Aaron couldn’t help but catch glimpses of the new generation mingling among the elite.
To his surprise, news of his presence spread like wildfire among the remnants of the old guard, prompting hurried transmissions echoing the message, “He is here.” Aaron could not shake the feeling of absurdity at their alarm; the once-powerful king, now a frail shadow of his former self thanks to more than a few purgative doses of Geritol, had finally acknowledged his grievous misjudgment and issued a long-overdue pardon. But Aaron found little solace in this belated gesture.
Ultimately, Swayville’s avarice for control did not wane, as he swiftly retaliated by issuing yet another warrant for Aaron’s arrest, concocted from dubious charges that lacked any substantial evidence. In a fateful twist of events, Aaron found himself in a position where survival dictated his actions, leading him to kill a jailer during his escape from that dreaded prison—a mere footnote in his tragic saga, for the jailer was but a nameless demon, unimportant in the grand scheme of things.
Now, with little more than a desire to explore the vibrant world he had missed in his youth, Aaron wanders the lively streets of Solstice, curious to discover what this new era has to offer, determined to reclaim his place in a society that has forgotten him.
Swayville
Once imprisoned by King Swayville, Aaron discovered that he had been set up by Mandor. His return to the Thelbane after an agonizing 50 millennia spent trapped in the depths of the Abyss was met with tension. King Swayville, still harbouring resentment and suspicion, was far from pleased to see Aaron once again. Despite the royal pardon, the past loomed heavy over their tentative relationship. Now, although they coexist within the same realm, their interactions are carefully measured and maintained at an arm’s length, each wary of the other’s motives, yet bound by the intricate tapestry of their shared history.
Vendetta
Upon returning to Rexford, Aaron swore a fierce vendetta against the Jesby family for their ruthless massacre of nearly the entire male lineage of Rexford. Fueled by an unyielding determination, he painstakingly tracked down several elder Jesby members, executing them in broad daylight for all to witness. One particular assassination etched itself into his memory: the elimination of a Jesby at the grand opera house nestled in the heart of Jesby’s capital. The opulent chandeliers, adorned with countless sparkling crystals, cast a shimmering glow over the elegantly dressed audience, their eyes fixed on the stage as the symphony played on, blissfully unaware of the drama unfolding in the shadows. The rich, velvety notes of the orchestra filled the air, weaving a tapestry of sound that contrasted sharply with the tension simmering in the background. Later, with a hint of dark satisfaction, Aaron was overheard remarking that he had an utterly delightful evening at the theatre, his words laced with irony as they hung in the air like an unanswered question.
Grand Duchy of Rexford
In a time long past, King Swayville, made a solemn promise to the Duke of Rexford, vowing that his duchy would one day be elevated to the esteemed status of a Grand Duchy. The transformation of Rexford into a Grand Duchy not only reflected the king’s resolve to honour his word but also marked a new era of prosperity and influence for the Grand Duke and his people, of which Aaron played a pivotal role. Among his most notable achievements was the successful reclamation of a significant portion of territory from the Abyss Empire, a formidable and shadowy realm known for its treacherous landscapes and dark magic.
In recognition of his unwavering dedication and unparalleled courage, Aaron was appointed as the viceroy of the Abyss Empire, representing the interests of Swayville. His leadership not only solidified Swayville’s dominion but also fostered a fragile peace between the two nations, proving that diplomacy and strength can coexist.
Marriage
Shortly after returning to Rexford, Aaron encountered Ché, the son of the infamous Mandor. As they spent time together, they quickly discovered numerous shared interests and values, while notably lacking a common hatred for Ché’s father. Their initial camaraderie deepened rapidly, transforming into a profound affection that neither had anticipated.
In a ceremony at the Rexford Castle, and with the blessing of Aaron‘s uncle, the newly appointed Grand Duke, Aaron and Ché exchanged vows, solidifying their bond in front of family and friends. Following their marriage, the couple embarked on their new life together, taking up residence in the picturesque surroundings of the grand duchy, where they intended to nurture their love amidst the beauty of their homeland.
